DAY 1: PAKSE - BOLAVEN PLATEAU

Your journey begins with a visit to Tad Champee Waterfall, a charming cascade surrounded by lush forest, offering a gentle introduction to the natural beauty of the Bolaven Plateau. Continue to the dramatic twin cascades of Tad Fane, the tallest waterfalls in Laos at 120 meters. From the wooden viewing platform, admire sweeping views of the deep canyon below. For adventurous travelers, an optional zipline offers a thrilling perspective across the falls (advance reservation recommended).
A short drive away lies Tad Yuang Waterfall, 40 meters tall and framed by dense jungle. Scenic viewpoints from the top, side, and bottom allow you to appreciate its beauty from every angle. A picnic area, riverside restaurant, and the pioneering Jhai Coffee House, which supports clean water and education projects, make this a meaningful and relaxing stop.

DAY 2: BOLAVEN PLATEAU - PAKSE
Departure: 08.00 hrs
Start the day at Thateng Market, a lively local market where residents from surrounding villages gather to trade fresh produce, forest herbs, and everyday goods. The market offers an authentic glimpse into highland life on the Bolaven Plateau.
Continue to Ban Kandone, a Katu community known for its traditional backstrap loom weaving. Here, you will learn about age-old textile techniques and see distinctive patterns created in red, black, and white, often decorated with beads.
Next, visit Ban Kok Phung Tai Market, a vibrant local market featuring fresh vegetables, woven textiles, forest products, and locally grown coffee. Stroll through the stalls and observe the daily rhythms of plateau life.
The journey continues to the Tad Lo area, a scenic landscape of rivers, forest paths, and small villages, ideal for a gentle walk and a deeper appreciation of the region’s natural surroundings. Nearby communities, including the Ngae people of Ban Khieng Tad Soung, maintain strong spiritual traditions, reflected in their ancestral worship and Ho Kuan ceremonial halls.
Conclude your journey at a village renowned for organic coffee production and Katu-style weaving. Local guide Mr. Vieng will share his knowledge of Bolaven coffee from seed to cup and invite you to enjoy a freshly brewed tasting. A selection of quality coffee products and handwoven textiles is available before returning to Pakse.
