DAY 1: PAKSE - BOLAVEN PLATEAU

Departure: 08.00 hrs

Your journey begins at the twin cascades of Tad Fane, the tallest waterfalls in Laos at 120 meters. From the wooden viewing platform, admire sweeping views of the dramatic canyon. For adventurous travelers, an optional zipline offers a thrilling perspective across the falls (advance reservation recommended).

A short drive away lies Tad Yuang Waterfall, 40 meters tall and surrounded by lush forest. Scenic viewpoints from the top, side, and bottom allow you to admire its beauty from every angle. A picnic area, riverside restaurant, and the pioneering Jhai Coffee House—which supports clean water and education projects—make this a meaningful stop.

Start the day by exploring Ban Kok Phung Tai Market, a vibrant local market where villagers gather to sell fresh produce, forest herbs, woven textiles, and locally grown coffee. Stroll among the colorful stalls and experience the lively atmosphere, gaining an authentic glimpse into daily life and the diverse cultures of the region.

After the market, visit Tad Lo Waterfall, a peaceful site ideal for a short forest walk.

Continue to Ban Khieng Tad Soung, an Ngae community village, where ancestral spirit worship remains a central tradition. The distinctive Ho Kuan ceremonial halls highlight their deep spiritual roots.

End the day at the impressive Phouphasouk Cave in Salavanh Province, stretching over 4,600 meters and considered one of Laos’s most beautiful caves. (Note: The cave may be closed during rainy season. If so, you will visit Ban Kandone, another Katu village famous for traditional backstrap loom weaving.)

Conclude your journey at a village celebrated for organic coffee production and Katu weaving. Local guide Mr. Vieng will share his knowledge of coffee cultivation, from seed to cup, and invite you to enjoy a freshly brewed tasting.
