Full-Day Trekking at Dan Yai & Tiger Falls

Start your day at Jhai Coffee House, a charming café on the beautiful Bolaven Plateau. Surrounded by green coffee plantations and cool mountain air, it is the perfect place to enjoy a fresh cup of locally grown coffee. Behind the café, explore a peaceful garden with coffee trees, local crops, and a small pond surrounded by tall trees.

Continue to Ban Nong Luang Village, a peaceful highland village with approximately 700 residents. Discover the simple way of life, observe villagers working on their farms, and experience their warm hospitality.

From the village, enjoy a unique ride on a local tractor, a traditional form of rural transportation used by villagers. Travel along the countryside tracks, passing farmland and beautiful natural scenery on your way to the village temple. This short journey offers an authentic experience of rural life and adds a special touch of adventure before the trek begins. 

Upon arrival at the temple, begin your trekking adventure toward Dan Yai, following scenic trails through coffee plantations, pine forests, and lush jungle. Along the way, discover colorful wildflowers during the wet season, moss-covered rocks, and beautiful views of waterfalls hidden among the trees.

At Dan Yai, reach an elevated viewpoint at 1,290 meters above sea level, offering refreshing mountain air and spectacular panoramic views. As this is a highland area, fog is common and may sometimes partially cover the landscape, creating a mysterious and peaceful atmosphere.

Take a break and enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by nature, listening to birdsong and feeling the cool mountain breeze. Relax, enjoy your meal, and appreciate the peaceful surroundings.

Optional Adventure – Trek to the Lower Waterfalls

For experienced trekkers seeking an extra challenge, an optional three-hour round-trip trek to the lower waterfalls is available. The trail is steep, uneven, and can be slippery, requiring good physical fitness and suitable trekking shoes. This rewarding adventure takes you deeper into the valley to discover beautiful, secluded waterfalls surrounded by untouched nature.

Later, continue through the forest to reach the Head of Tiger Waterfall, a beautiful natural attraction surrounded by lush greenery and moss-covered rocks. Take time to relax, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, or swim in the refreshing water when conditions are safe.

After exploring the waterfall, trek back toward the temple area and return to Ban Nong Luang Village by local tractor before continuing your journey by vehicle to Pakse.
