Departure: 08.00 hrs
Start your day at Jhai Coffee House, a cozy café located in the beautiful Bolaven Plateau. Surrounded by green coffee plantations and cool mountain air, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a fresh cup of local coffee. Behind the café, you can walk through a small garden with coffee trees, other local crops, and a calm pond surrounded by tall trees, giving a peaceful and relaxing start to your day. Next, visit Ban Nong Luang Village, a quiet village with about 700 residents, where life is simple and slow. Here, you can see villagers working on their farms, making traditional crafts, and experience their warm hospitality.
After the village, enjoy a scenic trek through coffee plantations and forest trails toward Dan Yai. Along the way, you will see pine forests, colorful wildflowers, mossy rocks, and beautiful views of waterfalls hidden in the jungle. At the top, an elevated viewpoint at 1,290 meters gives a refreshing atmosphere and amazing panoramic views. Please note that as this is a highland area, fog is common and sometimes the full view may be partially hidden, adding a mysterious and peaceful atmosphere to the landscape. Take a break for a relaxing picnic lunch in the middle of nature, with the sounds of birds and the gentle breeze around you. Take your time to rest, enjoy some local food, and feel calm and refreshed in the peaceful surroundings.
*Optional: For those who want more adventure, there is a hard trek down to the lower waterfalls. The trail is steep, uneven, and can be slippery, taking about three hours for a round trip. This challenging path brings you close to untouched waterfalls in the valley, offering a unique and rewarding experience for experienced trekkers.
Later, continue deeper into the forest to reach the Head of Tiger Waterfall, a stunning waterfall surrounded by green trees and mossy rocks. You can relax, swim, or just enjoy the peaceful surroundings. After exploring the waterfall, trek back to Ban Nong Luang Village and then drive back to Pakse, ending your day with wonderful memories of coffee, nature, culture, and adventure.
