This half-day program offers a perfect introduction to the culture, history, and daily life of Pakse and can be enjoyed either in the morning or afternoon, depending on your schedule.
Begin your journey at Pakse Museum, a small but fascinating museum where you’ll uncover the rich history and diverse cultures of Southern Laos. Explore artifacts, photographs, and exhibits that showcase the traditions, ethnic groups, and heritage of the region, giving you a deeper understanding of the local way of life.
Next, stroll through Dao Heuang Market (Talat Dao Heuang), the largest and liveliest market in Southern Laos. This half-day journey offers a rich mix of culture, craftsmanship, and riverside scenery, and can be enjoyed in the morning or afternoon.
Begin at Bung Udom Vietnamese Temple and Pakse Pun Tao Kong Shrine, near the confluence of the Xe Don River and the Mekong. Witness the striking natural spectacle of two differently colored rivers flowing side by side—a unique and memorable sight.
Continue to Wat Chomphet, a peaceful temple where you can explore the nearby Buddha carving village, home to artisans preserving age-old stone carving traditions. Visitors may also encounter friendly elephants and horses near the temple, with the chance to feed them.
Stop at Ban Saphai Village, a handicraft center showcasing traditional weaving techniques. Observe skilled artisans at work and pick up a unique souvenir if you wish.
